How to make a complaint about children's services
If you are unhappy with decisions made by children's services, or the way you or your child have been treated, you have the right to make a complaint. Children and young people, parents, carers, and others acting on behalf of a child can all raise concerns. The first step is to contact your local council directly; most councils have a dedicated complaints procedure for children's services, which you can find on their website. You can ask to speak to a complaints officer or submit your complaint in writing. If you feel you need support through the process, an advocate can help you understand your rights and make sure your voice is heard.
